STATEMENT 2020

In progression with my ideas of psychology, I’ve furthered the artistic endeavor of emphasis on the human psyche. I utilize shapes and harsh contrast in color to convey a search for something we cannot see. We do not have an actual vision of emotion nor do we have a vision of how to deal with lifes’ complications. In my works I have asked myself how I can box out psychological processing on the human body. Furthermore, I explore the notion that it’s possible to process psychological trauma throughout all parts of the human form, not just the head.

STATEMENT 2018

My artwork visualizes psychological processes. The work I do is a direct reaction to what occurs to and around me. I am interested in the mental processes of the human mind. The human form is something I utilize as I have continued the process of discovering myself within my work. Paint is how I process and deal with life events, it is how I deal with what happens to me.
My intent is to communicate the light and dark in the world through relatable imagery. The work raises questions about the connection of body and mind and our reckoning with our own psyches.
